We have been discussing simile and metaphor which are figures of speech. Both compare two unlike things. Similes use "like" or "as", and metaphors do not. Writers use them to create a certain feeling for the passage that is being read. Similes and metaphors make the passage more interesting.
Please write a sentence or two about what it would be like to be a potter. You will need to include a metaphor or simile.

Being a potter would make my happiness like a ray of sun on a cloudy day.

To be a potter would be wonderful. I would be moving my hand up and down on wet clay. After glazing it painting it as if I am Da Vinci making the Mona Lisa. Mixing two arts together. As I said before, to be a potter would be wonderful.
I know how it feels to be a potter (I do hand building!). it is stressful, some things are tedious to make, and you have to make it right, or it will crack.

Making a pot is like changing a baby's diaper.
